As follow up from a recent meeting between the fathers at Archangel Michael & St Bishoy Church, Mount Druitt, the following was discussed:
In light of the recent and ongoing pressures that families are encountering, the church of Archangel Michael and St Bishoy, Mount Druitt, with the Grace of God will be introducing a new programme for recently married couples and couples intending to marry.
The course will be run by a volunteer, “Ireni Attia” who is a qualified Family Counsellor.
The programme which is entitled “Marriage Education Course” has 6 modules which are listed below:
1. Stages of relationships.
2. Personality in relationships.
3. The power of words in a relationship.
4. Boundaries in a relationship.
5. His needs & her needs.
6. Intimacy in relationships.
For those who intend to marry the church will be requiring that they attend and complete the 6 modules.
The program will run three times a year (this is based on the rate of marriages in the past). We have found that Marriages are very common in February, May and November. Therefore the program will be available as follows:
a. February for the lot marrying in May, June and July
b. August for the lot marrying in September, October and November
c. November for the lot marrying in January and February
i. NOTE EACH PROGRAM WILL BE HELD IN THE FIRST TWO WEEKS OF THE NOMINATED MONTH
The course would run each round as a two day course over two Saturdays, each around a 6 hour block.
A nominal fee of $20 each will be payable to provide for the printing of material and the provision of lunch, tea and coffee.
Those intending to enrol to any of these dates please complete the attached form and submit to Fr Gabriel asap. In future all applications can be made through the church committee i.e. Mr Adel Henain.
Please see the Marriage Education Course Enrolment Pamphlet
Please pray for the success of this service, for the Glory of God and the peace of the family.
5:30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. 5:31 For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. 5:32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 5:33 Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
